A few lucky guests were treated to a wonderful sight at Knight Inlet Lodge in late August. One of our grizzly sows, we call her Beatrice, chose to nurse her triplet cubs right below our viewing stand. This wonderfully tender moment illustrates how our presence is accepted by the bears of Glendale Cove. Our standards of bear viewing and minimizing our impact on the bears has helped to make magical moments such as this possible. https://www.youtube.com/user/theknightinletlodge
Knight Inlet Lodge had another successful grizzly bear viewing year in 2011 and is looking forward to 2012. Our grizzly bear viewing season opens on May 17 and will run until October 15, 2012. The response of our guests to the lodge and our program and what we do is a very gratifying one that never grows old. While working at a grizzly bear viewing lodge sounds like fun, and it is, like anywhere it does have its challenges. It is the energy and good spirits of our guests that help smooth out the rough spots that go with any job.

What a wonderful experience!!
Our visit to Knight Inlet Lodge was the 2 days of our Canadian holiday we were most looking forward to & it did not disappoint.
From the moment we were met at Campbell River airport by Harold, the Knight Inlet Lodge shuttle driver everything was perfect. The information Harold shared on what lay ahead only magnified our excitement level.

One of the things I enjoy the most about my job with Knight Inlet Lodge is all the interesting people that I get to meet. Now I say meet but what I really mean is correspond with as very rarely do I get to meet them face to face.
The Knight Inlet Lodge is a unique experience. You see a lot of wild life and the guides at the lodge are very kind, spontaneous and full of wild life knowledge.

Knights Inlet, Sept. 2009 four days that will be etched in my memory forever and when my memory fails, I have my photos to look back on (thanks to Phil and team for returning my camera after I left it behind).
The people you meet. Being an animal person myself I have little time for people. However through the common goal of seeing grizzly bears in the wild we some how magically came to know those strangers sitting across from us at Vancouver airport. In fact we now email one another to share our stories and photos of our great adventure at Knights Inlet.
